Each year we wait with bated breath for the colour forecasts that will set the trends over the next season. Without even realising it, we’ll be swayed into using these selected tones in our homes and in everything from design, photography, weddings and more in the year ahead.
This year, industry leaders, Pantone, has announced Living Coral as their selected 2019 Colour of the Year. To date, this tone is receiving mixed reviews. Regardless, it is inspired by nature and is a rich, vibrant tone that is sure to infuse life into any space.
Pantone describes this shade as an animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge. It does lean towards the feminine as a nurturing and natural colour but overall we think it is a beautifully mellow tone, far from the dramatic Ultra Violet colour of the year for 2018.
I’m not saying that you should go and paint your entire home in shades of coral but used correctly, Living Coral will certainly brighten any dull nook in your house.
