The first five months of this year have been filled with adventure, writing, family and more. I have had some amazing opportunities to collab with some interesting brands and work alongside many existing long-term clients who have become friends. I also had the opportunity to travel abroad and spend some quality time with new and old friends in California and Dubai. If this is the pace in which 2019 is going to happen, then I am super excited about the rest of this year!
Here is a quick update on everything that has sparked my interest this season…
Business Branding & Website Content:
When it comes to brand development and website content, I have worked with new and old clients to help establish their online presence. The infamous ‘About Us’ page is one that many businesses battle with and I’ve been hard at work fine-tuning some of these pages for brands across various industries, including design, beauty and more.
‘About Us’ page tips:
- Keep it fresh and simple. Don’t overload this page with information. State the facts: Who, What, Why, Where and How.
- Be original. Tell a story that is unique to your brand. A potential client will spend fleeting moments on this page on your website – give them something worth reading.
- Engage – speak to your ideal client. If you don’t know who that is, spend some time figuring this out, as your ideal client will become an important piece of your business and marketing strategy.
Design and Decor: Awards, Writing & More
This year also started off with a bang as my client, SA Decor & Design, was announced the winner of the Best Business Blog in the SA Blog Awards. As the Social Media Online Editor for this growing brand, this has really been a wonderful accomplishment for all involved. Daily we write and collate design and decor news, trends and more across the Marcia Loves It Blog – bringing all the latest in international and local design news to one explosive online platform! Team Jesus Mag
This year I also took a leap of faith and joined the editorial team over at Team Jesus Mag. This is a international platform created to honour God, and uplift and inform the body of Christ. You can check out some of my published work on marriage, social media and more HERE.
Togetherhood
This has also been a season of letting go, and after three years of writing for the amazing Togetherhood online platform, the owners have decided to discontinue the site. I have shared some great parenting insight here over the years and been inspired by all the many resources and helpful articles that have shaped my own parenting journey. We wish everyone involved all the best in their new endeavours.
So, where to next? I’m currently reading a book called Bending Time by Dan McCollam which is challenging me to think about my time a little differently. Inspired by the revelations in this book, I feel like I am certainly at the right age to be doing everything God has purposed me to do at this season of my life. So, onward to new heights and new adventures for the rest of 2019!
