In many ways, the past four months have both flown by and stood still – all at the same time. Is that even possible? And yet, here we are, still stuck in limbo. Many thoughts go through my head as we navigate this new terrain. Will we ever get things back to the way they were?

As a freelance writer, I have worked from home for over eight years now. It is my happy space. It’s where I thrive. However, having my family here 24/7 has created a whole new dynamic. I’ve had to juggle my ‘normal’ working hours to accommodate primary school curricula and managing my kids as we survive the madness together. The world has gone a little crazy out there and it became even more important to keep things stable and happy at home.
So… we crafted, we baked yummy delicacies and we watched more Youtube videos than we probably should have. But we are all sane and we keep moving forward.
On the writing front, I have seen some clients come to a halt on important projects. I’ve seen industries under immense strain – some have totally collapsed while others continue to battle to make ends meet. On the other end, I have also witnessed the rise of new initiatives with brave entrepreneurs taking on challenges to pursue their dreams… all amidst a pandemic. I take my hat off to everyone who has launched a business, pursued a new venture or put a plan in motion during this time.
If anything, this season has taught me to appreciate the small things in life and to stop living as though we will have tomorrow to accomplish all the plans we have in our hearts. What if tomorrow never comes?
If you’ve put off plans to build a business, launch a dream project, or even see the world – DO IT. Whatever it is that you carry in your heart today – make it happen.
What are you waiting for?
